RENAULT SCENIC TYRE PRESSURERespecting the correct tyre pressure for the Renault Scenic, the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), which competes with the Zafira by Vauxhall, the Verso by Toyota, the Multipla by Fiat, the Xsara by Citroen, the Altea by Seat and the Almera by Nissan, cuts gas uage and bills, raises driving safety and reduces as much as possible harmful atmospheric CO2 emissions. The Scenic represents a success in marketing more than a success in engineering. In the late 1990s, Renault basically took a hatchback version of its popular Megane car, added some minor features of convenience, and gave it a new name: Scenic. It actually did not think that it would sell very many of these cars. When sales surged past their projections, Renault had to scramble to increase production, eventually by five fold from their initial estimates and offering five types of trims, labeled Extreme, Expression, I-Music, Dynamic and Privilege. A prerequisite to selling and making money off cars today should be leadership in making cars that protect our environment. The people at Renault should be reminded of this fact and requested to make tyre pressure monitoring more convenient, not only for the Scenic, but also the Megane, Clio and Laguna.
